Earlier today we saw the introduction of two new tanks to the supertest – the british A43 BP prototype and the tier 8 T54E2 American heavy tank, furthermore, earlier this week we saw the addition of a double barreled ST-II to the supertest, and we have more information on the new mechanic. Let’s not beat around the bush: yes, we are testing the mechanics of the double weapon. Immediately make a reservation – it is not known whether it will be in the game. And first of all, we note that this is a test of mechanics, and not of specific tanks. The mechanics themselves are being tested on the example of the ST-II tank, but its equipment, and even the tank itself is used only as a test site. Our task now is to test the concept of two-gun machines. The complexity of the development of such a technique lies in the fact that we need to properly balance these machines with those already in the game. Now we are choosing one of the options for implementing the mechanics of the double gun, and only then we will be able to proceed to customizing the tanks themselves, taking into account the new features. After all, we want not only to give double barreled vehicles higher one-time damage, but also to balance this with the possibility of simultaneous firing from both guns! It is obvious that it is necessary to somehow pay for this opportunity, because we are testing various prototypes of the implementation of this mechanics. At this point, we only had the first testing of two options. But as ideas we have other prototypes. We want to emphasize that now we are just starting to prototype the concept and test implementation options, so it’s too early to talk about putting this mechanics into the game. Machines must pass a full cycle of testing. And we want these machines: • were interesting for the game; • Be balanced against others. If in the course of testing we are unable to select such characteristics of the machines under which both conditions are fulfilled, then such tanks will not appear in the game (in any case, until a solution is found). This is a normal process in the development: we are constantly testing certain game mechanics that may sound interesting in theory, but in practice they turn out to be unviable. In any case, we will continue to search and test new mechanics, because we, like you, want to see something new and interesting in the game. View the full article
  6. If you want to know how well you’re doing in battle, you need detailed statistics that allow you to closely track your combat performance, including your effectiveness with various vehicles. To make this easier, we’re adding a new feature with Update 1.5.1 called Session Statistics. This addition will help you get lots of useful data regarding your battle performance. Random Battles on Full Display Session Statistics will be available right in your Garage, appearing to the left of the Notification Center button. Your daily statistics will be recorded for all Random Battles, excluding Grand Battles, for each game session or each game day. The game session is the time interval from launching the game client until the player manually resets the statistics. The game day is the time period from the reset of the daily activities until the next reset. Thanks to Session Statistics, you will be able to see detailed combat performance data, including your effectiveness in a specific vehicle. For example, regarding the economic aspects of World of Tanks, you will be able to obtain: General stats on income (Bonds, Credits, XP and Free XP) per battle General stats on expenses (Bonds, Credits) In addition, you will be able to get the most detailed battle statistics for the current game session, including: Average blocked damage Average damage dealt/taken coefficient The average XP gained Your statistics will be automatically reset once a day. You can also reset them yourself in the game client at any time if you wish. The Hall of Fame and the WTR Rating Session Statistics also gives you direct access to the Hall of Fame, so you can view even more detailed statistics, down to a specific game day or period of time. In addition, Session Statistics allows you to instantly find out your current WTR rating. NOTE: In 2017 we introduced WTR, a new rating system which calculates an individual rating for each tank, and these vehicle-specific scores are then used to assess a player’s overall performance. This rating responds flexibly to changes of combat strategy as it evaluates your stats against average indicators across the server. So, after you select a tank, it ranks your performance indicators according to their relevance for the particular vehicle WTR is a much more informative and complex rating system compared to Win Rate or other ratings which neglect a vehicle’s nuances. WTR delivers the most relevant stats, while these other rating systems lack the criteria needed to determine if a player is skillful or just plays in different modes. Now you can find out your average WTR for the entire session or for a different time period. In addition to quick and easy access via Session Statistics, we’ve also added the following to the Hall of Fame: Your lifetime game statistics Daily fluctuations in overall statistics Delta: Measuring Your Performance Session Statistics will help you understand how your current game session has affected your lifetime stats, thanks to a metric called “Delta”. In mathematics, “Delta” is the difference between two values. In our case, the “Delta” being measured is the impact of the battles in your current session on your lifetime battle stats. Thanks to these Delta metrics, you can find out if you’ve played better or worse than usual by evaluating your performance with the following parameters: Difference between the average damage done during the current session and your lifetime average damage Difference between average experience for all battles based on current statistics and average experience for all battles excluding the current session Difference between WTR for all your battles during the current session and WTR for all battles, excluding the current session Detailed Statistics on Your Vehicles Session Statistics gives you access to detailed statistics on the vehicles you’ve played. You can check on: The total number of battles you’ve played in this vehicle throughout the session The difference between the vehicle’s average WTR for all battles during the current session and the vehicle’s average WTR for all battles, excluding the current session Finally, Session Statistics provides quick access to the following information via vehicle tooltip: Mark of Excellence progress (in %) The amount of XP earned by a player with this vehicle throughout the session The amount of Credits earned with this vehicle for all battles throughout the session The ratio of damage dealt/received throughout the session Knowledge is power, Commanders! Take advantage of the wide functionality of Session Statistics to be more effective on the battlefield! View the full article

  19. A new Tier VI American TD is coming to the ST server: the T78. It’s a relatively mobile vehicle with a turret capable of rotating full 360 degrees. Another strength is the easy-to-handle and very efficient gun with excellent gun depression. The cost? The T78’s protection is almost non-existent, try not to rely on it! You’re probably thinking, “ mobile American TD with a great gun but no armor. This sure reminds me of something!” And you would be spot on. The T78 is definitely like the Hellcat in terms of gameplay, still, there are some differences. Less mobility means you won’t be able to follow your allies easily around the map or looking for someone to prey on. On the other hand, the gun on the T78 reloads faster and has better stabilization on the move than that of the Hellcat. Taking all this into consideration, the best way to play the T78 is changing your position often and firing at your enemies using the ridgelines and map terrain. As always, the stats of the vehicle may change depending on the results of the test. Make sure to follow the news and may luck shine upon you in every battle! View the full article

  25. PS: The recent lack of news was caused by the Russian New Year. I also have a funeral to attend tomorrow and exams in the following 3 weeks, therefore I cannot focus as much on the blog. After the tests, it was decided to introduce changes and corrections to the first French premium wheeled vehicle at tier VIII . These changes will be already introduced in the public test of update 1.4 and it is possible that they will be subject to further changes. Changes in brief: Engine power increased by 5%. Increased braking efficiency. Change to driving mode shortened from 0.2 to 0.1s. Reduced debuff caused by wheel damage. Increased maneuverability in travel mode at low speeds. Magazine reload time reduced from 10.3 to 9.5s. Exact changes: Dynamics: Engine power changed from 500 to 525HP (+ 5%). The braking efficiency and – to some extent – the acceleration efficiency (as a side effect) have been improved. Change to driving mode shortened from 0.2 to 0.1s. Players complained that the vehicle lacked dynamics in specific cases. At the same time, however, some emphasized the large inertia of the vehicle (brakes too weak). Increasing the power of the engine has a rather cosmetic effect, while the braking force has been improved noticeably. The time needed to change between driving modes has been shortened, which allows you to lose less speed when changing the mode during movement. Wheel damage: Debuff (increased resistance, decreased speed) from the damaged wheel has been reduced. The level at which the wheels are repaired automatically has been set to 100%. The speed of automatic wheel repair has been reduced. Players complained about a drastic decrease in vehicle dynamics even when only two wheels were damaged. In fact, damage to one or two wheels did not have much impact during fast driving. Meanwhile, acceleration even with one damaged wheel was too slow. Debuff reduction from single wheel damage has an almost imperceptible effect at high speeds, while it effectively improves acceleration when one or two wheels are damaged. Setting automatic wheel repair to some extent reduces the chance of damage to the wheel, thereby increasing the severity of damage to each of the vehicle’s wheels. Maneuverability: Steering speed of the wheels increased. The maximum angle of tilting of the wheels when the forward drive key is not pressed is increased. The degree of throttle opening during turning at low speeds (using the A and D keys, without W-red.) Increased. The maximum speed for which the above effect happens is set to 20km / h. The vehicle required better maneuverability at low speeds in the travel mode. At speeds greater than 20km / h, the base maneuverability remained almost unchanged except by increased responsiveness to turns (due to accelerated wheel rotation) and the possibility of tighter turning after releasing the forward key. Maneuverability in the fast mode remained unchanged. Thus, we achieved greater separation between driving modes. Battle performance: Magazine reload time reduced from 10.3 to 9.5s (-8%) Adding the third round to the magazine, as asked by many players, seemed inappropriate. The current configuration of the magazine encourages players to play all-in, firing both rounds at once and retreating to a safe position for reloading. Therefore, the efficiency of the magazine has been slightly improved by reducing the reload time. Increasing the view range also seemed illogical, because the combat potential of this vehicle is rather big at the moment, because it combines in a cheerful way the characteristics that help in achieving an active gameplay. Other: The engine parameters have been adjusted (not perceptible to players). The suspension stiffness parameters have been increased (this will reduce the damage from falls when the vehicle lands on the wheels). The grip has been improved (reducing the chance of slipping at high speeds). View the full article
